Having begun his training under Sensei Robert
Tiene in Malvern nearly 10 years ago Tim's enthusiasm for Ju-Jutsu took
off and he has not looked back since! |
 |
Initially only interested in the self defence
applications of the traditional movements, he then started to enjoy
competing in the Kumite and submission style events whereby he could test
the efficacy of his techniques against a resisting opponent.
He feels this is the most important element of such competitions, you
actually find out what does and does not work for you under pressure!
He has competed in many events, including
Ju-Jutsu Kumite, 'Grapple and Strike' and the 'Combat' Open Grappling
Championships. As stated, he strongly believes in pressure testing certain
aspects of Ju-Jutsu through competition, as students can then develop an
arsenal of techniques they KNOW they can use if in danger.
He plans on opening a new club in the next few months.
